A very Merry Christmas

We had an amazingly wonderful Christmas here. It was down to the wire, with Keith and I frantically shopping on Christmas Eve (I've never done that before), but we got it all done. We had pleasant visits with family on Christmas Eve and then on Christmas morning, we opened our presents. I got a beautiful necklace, the Muppets Christmas cd (Yes!) and a Universal Studios pass, among other things, so it was very exciting.

Then it was off to Grammy and Grandpoppy's house, where there were way more presents than expected. Jack now has EVERY toy (or at least it seems that way). We had fun there and then hurried back home because Keith was cooking his first Christmas dinner for us and friends later that night.

We began cleaning and cooking and a few hours later, Stef, Jay, and Stef's Dad, Andy showed up. Jack became the main entertainment of the night and Keith's dinner was awesome. He made the full traditional Christmas dinner with turkey, stuffing, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, salad, cornbread, etc, etc, etc. We stuffed ourselves while jack ate cheerios and yogurt. Then we had dessert (made by Stef or Jason, we don't know because they both kept claiming that they had made it)... brownies and BARK (Keith's new favorite food).

Yesterday was a rainy day so we recovered from the chaos of Christmas by staying in, going outside only once to take Jack on a walk in his new car/ stroller/ buggy thing.

Today, Keith is at work. Tomorrow, I will be working and then we are both home again on Friday. We are thinking of going to Universal to break in my new pass. We have had the most fun and pleasant Christmas that I can remember. It's just a bummer that we have to wait a whole year before the next one.

Check out Keith's blog for some great pictures and a post about our trip to Leu Gardens two days before Christmas. We had somuch fun and the pictures are really cute.

Great day, great family, great life

It's already been a great Christmas. There's the same old stresses... like we're not finished shopping yet, we're running out of time, etc, etc, but aside from that, it's been great.

First of all, thanks to Keith working at a school, he's had a much easier work schedule for the past week or so. He's taken a few days off and the days that he's worked have been very low key and... administrative. So, that's been nice. Also, we've closed our homework helping business while schools are closed, so we haven't had to be working in the evenings. That has made a big difference.

Last weekend was a total blast. We had a great time. The resort was so beautiful and somehow we ended up on the club level which afforded us a beautiful view, free snacks and drinks (of the bottled water, coke, and Alcohol based kind) all included. Whatever extra I paid for this upgrade was minimial and hardly even noticed really since I'd booked the room in early November. We just had so much fun relaxing and hanging out.

During the week, Keith took Jack to Universal Studios and today we went to Leu Gardens in Winter Park. It was so fun and a really nice day. Tomorrow we have last minute shopping to do and then dinner with family. Christmas day we will be opening presents at home, then seeing family, and then later, having some special friends (more like family) over for dinner. Stef, her husband, and her dad. So we are very excited about that. I hope everyone is having a good, safe, happy, and fun weekend. Gotta go eat dinner with my fantastic husband!

Jack rules

Get a load of how good my kid is... I took him Christmas shopping this morning and was able to buy 2 presents! And he never even got cranky!! Then we got home, I put him in the crib to take a nap and he looked at me and said, "Puppy". This is what we call his favorite stuffed animal that he always sleeps with. But he's never called it anything! How cool is that?!

Just so you know, the birthday fun starts in just two days! Imagine me doing a Howard Dean-like-yell in excitement. ARRRRRRRRHHHHHHHH!

Birthday weekend and Neil

It is almost time for Keith's birthday weekend!! In three days, we will be going to the Royal Pacific resort at Universal Studios. Argh!!! I can't even wait.

A special thanks to my mom who tipped me off that Neil Diamond was singing on the View this morning. I caught it just in time. He's the greatest.

On the Road to Wellville

Well, we're all feeling a little bit better, which is great. I actually never ended up getting quite as sick as I thought I was going to, but Keith and Jack were definitely sick enough for all three of us.

Now... on to Christmas! We are hoping to get a tree and a family picture taken this weekend. At some point I have to finish Christmas shopping... but this is really no big deal anymore, thanks to the internet.

And before Christmas, we have the Keith's Birthday Bash Weekend Extravaganza!! Next weekend, we are going to Universal Studios resort for two days and two nights of hotel fun. We actually have no plans to go to the parks, which is kind of a bummer since I love the roller coasters... but, I'm really just more interested in sleep and hanging out with my husband sans baby at this point. We are very excited.

What has also been exciting is the barrage of early Christmas presents that we (Jack) have received... My mom has sent Keith's present (very nice) and Jack's presents already. Mine is apparently in the mail as we speak. Jack received a Spiderman chair, a picnic table, and the Little People garage... and all of which have their own funny stories that go along with them which I will have to tell my mom about later. They involve Jack climbing on all three gifts and treating the garage like a playground.

Gotta eat dinner! Bye bye.

My Christmas Wish

Obviously, like everyone else, I wish for world peace, winning the lottery, consistent restful nights of sleeping, but there is one more wish I have this Christmas. It's for clothes.

Not since I was probably 13 did I want some new clothes this much. Actually I dare to say, never in my life have I needed new clothes this much. Even when i was pregnant and had like three shirts and two pairs of pants, at least I had time to shop for more or time to wash what I had. Here I am, a year and a half (give or take) later and realizing I have NO clothes.

Here's why:

I am very good at cleaning out my closet. If something is stained badly, really old or I haven't worn it in like two years, I get rid of it.

I have not shopped for myself in a long time. I think I bought one outfit in 2006 and Keith got me a few things for my birthday. But that's it.

So, I am always getting rid of my old stuff but never replenishing with new stuff. This is due to time and money, of course.

To top it all off, I'm picky. So I'm telling people that are asking me what I want for Christmas that I need clothes, but then I'm quickly adding that they could just get me a gift card somewhere... because I want to be the one to pick out the new stuff. We'll see how it goes... 24 more days to go!
